Types
Bridges & Routers - Bridges and routers are important networking hardware that works as bridge and routers. They are known for protocols and operate at both the network layer for routable protocols and at the data link layer for non-routable protocols.

Hub & Switches - Hubs and switches are terms used to expedite a device that connects network segments in a computer networking device. Hub is a repeating device that takes the signal it receives and repeats it across all the ports it has.

Modems - The device that is known to modulate and analog carrier signal is known as modem. They perform the task of encoding digital information to produce a signal that can be transmitted easily and decoded to reproduce the original digital data.

Network Adapters - The device that interfaces a computer to a network is referred as network adapters. They exist in several forms and some of these wireless network adapters are pre installed inside the computer.

Network Cables - Though wireless may be the mantra of today, but many conventional computers use network cables to connect two network devices. Network patch cables are CAT5 or CAT5e Ethernet cables that link a computer to a nearby hub, switch or router.

Network Cards - Network cards are a crucial part of the networking hardware that is designed to allow computers to communicate over a computer network. It avails the users to connect to each other either by using cables or wireless.

Network Device - Computer networking device, sobriquet as network equipment are all those units that arbitrate data in a computer network. These are the units which are either the last receiver or generate data.

Material
Networking hardware material typically includes routers for information transferring, switches and network interface card. Routers is a network device with interfaces in multiple networks whose work is to copy information from one network to the other. Switches are networking device with multi ports to enable tasks to be copied from one port to the other. A network interface card is an expansion card which when installed in a computer can accredit the computer to physically connect to a local network. Bridge is the networking apparatus that allows one to segment a large network into two smaller, more efficient networks.

Application
The network industry has done a lot to change the interface of technological landscape of the world and is one of the fastest growing sector in the global technology market. It provides more flexibility while sharing data between computers it is very easy to set up. Today it has not only confined to home computers but in many business areas, like retail, manufacturing, warehousing, education and health care as well.
