The Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA) is a non-profit incorporated association representing building and design professionals who specialise in assessing the environmental impact of buildings. It is the only nationally recognised standard for Assessor training and Quality Assurance meeting with the requirements of the NSW Building Sustainability Index (BASIX) and the Building Code of Australia. It offers advice and information for Councils, building professionals and consumers and conducts seminars on sustainable development.

The staff members of the Sustainable Sweden Association have years of experience in the area of sustainable development, specially in building systems. The Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania was formed in 1997 by design and construction professionals. The mission of this association is to promote environmentally responsible design, planning, construction and operation of the built environment through education, outreach and networking.
The U.S. Green Building Council is a nonprofit membership organization aimed at expanding sustainable building practices. It is composed of more than 15,000 organizations from across the building industry including corporations, builders, universities, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations. It is working with a vision to modify the way communities and buildings are designed, built and operated, and create an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.
The UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) was launched in February 2007 to improve the sustainability of the built environment, by radically transforming the way it is planned, designed, constructed, maintained and operated. It is a membership organisation, consisting of businesses, NGOs, academic institutions and government agencies. It aims to provide information and facilitate learning between members and help the industry take the action required on sustainability.
The Sustainabilty Practitioners Association was formed in July 2004 by a group of 14 consultants working in different areas of sustainability. The vision of this association is to be an enduring, high impact association connecting and helping to develop Australian sustainability practitioners. It is working towards enabling its members to make highly effective in pursuing sustainability. One of its prime objectives is to share sustainability experience and knowledge, mentor future sustainability practitioners, and raise sustainability awareness and encourage adoption of more sustainable practices
Northeast Sustainable Energy Association is a leading organization of professionals working to bring clean electricity, green transportation, and healthy, efficient buildings into everyday use. NESEA has build a network of practitioners, professionals, and other citizens in pursuit of responsible energy use since its inception almost thirty year ago. The active members and organizations work together to discover and demonstrate the responsible production and use of energy.
Building Industry Association of Central California (BIACC) is comprised of 300 member companies, which are engaged in different aspects of the home building industry. It is a nonprofit trade association dealing in various sectors from building homes to providing workers compensation insurance. 
The Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) is a group of individuals and companies working with a common goal of promoting sustainable building. It was established in 1989 to make the people aware within the construction industry for the need to protect, preserve and enhance the environment principles that are known as "sustainability". The members include housing associations, builders, designers, architects, local authorities, consultants and manufacturers.
